Obituary of James Alfred Marshall
Loving Father and Grandfather
James Alfred Marshall, also known as JAM 38, age 69, died on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. He was born in North Matewan, WV and had lived in New York before moving to Edison over 30 years ago.
Mr.Marshall served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War.
He attended Bluefield State College in Bluefield, WV where he played football. Prior to his retirement, he was a Security Guard for Revlon in Edison from 1963 to 1991.
He enjoyed antique cars and fast cars.
Mr. Marshall is predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Bonnie Bell Broady Marshall and his brother, Charles Marshall in 2006.
Surviving are his sons, Leonard Marvin Mitchell and his wife, Kemper of Plainfield and James Alfred Marshall, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren, Theresa Marie Mitchell, Marvin Christopher Mitchell, Kenya Allen, Naya Allen and Joshua Marshall; and also survived by his long-time companion, Sharon Coy.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28th at 10:30 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Thursday from 7-9 only
