Father McKenna was such a great Christian example of reaching out to others. My sister was burned on her face and he ministered to her and me. My sister Arlene was 19 at the time and having a very difficult time. He came to our home and we both received the sacrament of confirmation. He was always there for us. We both married and moved out of state and we lost contact with Father McKenna but we will always remember his kindness and care. We enjoyed sailing on his sailboat "the Friendship." It helped my sister tremendously. She decided to get her real estate license and she is doing very well now. I love teaching bilingual children.
What a legacy he left. He will always hold a very special place in our hearts. May he enjoy his time in God's presence.

I am very sad to hear of Fr. McKenna's passing...he holds a very special place in my heart. He converted my family to Catholicism in the early sixties, taught me at St. Mary's School, and officiated at my wedding in 1973. I had lost touch with him but never forgot his kind and gentle way. He was a beautiful person, and I'm so sorry that he is gone.

Fr. Denis and I became friends many years ago when he assisted at daily mass at Our Lady of the Lake, Verona.
He was a wonderful priest and a poet with a great sense of humor. I will remember him always with love and affection. I miss this sweet, gentle man and remember him at daily mass.
