Obituary of George Haushalter

George Haushalter, age 92, died on Monday, October 1, 2007, at his daughter's home in Boyertown, PA. He was born in Newark, raised in East Orange, and had lived in Boston and Scotch Plains before moving to Bedminster 3 years ago.

Prior to his retirement in 1981, Mr. Haushalter was the Vice President and Underwriting Secretary for the Home Life Insurance Company in New York City for over 30 years. He was a certified Life Underwriter and a member of the Home Office Life Underwriters Association.

Mr. Haushalter was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who played semi-pro football and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine O'Reardon Haushalter; his daughters, Susan Scott and her husband, Brian of Bridgewater, Tracy Didinger and her husband John of Boyertown, PA, and Nancy Konen and her husband Jeffrey of Bridgewater; and his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christopher, Erin, Kyle, Sheldon, Kaitlin, Cassandra, Alexis, Tyler, Lucas, Tristin and Kimberlyn.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 5th at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment will be at Restland Cemetery in East Hanover. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
