Obituary of Charles A. Dolbier

Charles A. Dolbier, age 87, died on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Charles had lived in Union prior to residing in Mountainside. He worked for Park Plastics in Linden as a Sales Manager. He then started his own company, Charles A. Dolbier Associates, with headquarters in the Toy Center at 200 Fifth Ave. in New York City. In 1986 the company moved to North Plainfield and is now known as Charles Enterprises. Charles served in the Army Air Force during WWII as a crewmember of the Air Transport Command. He graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick in 1942 receiving his BS degree in Business. Charles was a great outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and golf. He held the positions of a Charter Boat Captain; President of Shohola Rod & Gun Club in Shohola, PA; President of Bells Outdoorsman Club in Warren; Lifetime Honorary Member of Colonia Country Club, and he was a Pilot who owned his own plane. Charles is predeceased by wife, Martha Joffe Dolbier (March 11, 2007), and his 3 great grandchildren, Jacky, Sidney and Ashley. He is survived by his son, Carey Dolbier; 3 daughters, Donna Karl, Debra Krienke and Doreen Crincoli; 11 grandchildren, Keri, Lauren, James and Jeffrey Dolbier; Kristen, Kourtney and Kevin Karl; Robbie and Dustin Krienke; Jacky and Jenell Crincoli; 3 great grandchildren, Nicholas and Michael Crincoli and Ava Prisco. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 18th in Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung from 11-12 noon. There will be a brief service at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Cremation was private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory, may be made to the Mountainside Rescue Squad, 1399 Route 22 East, Mountainside, NJ 07092.
