Obituary of Carolyn C. Michaels

Warren: Carolyn Michaels, age 92, died on Sunday, March 17th, 2013 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, surrounded by her family. Born Carolyn Robbins in Wells Bridge NY, she moved to Albany, NY as a teenager, married and raised her family there, and then moved to Warren in 1998. Carolyn retired from the New York Telephone Company in Albany, NY after twenty-eight years of service and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. Carolyn was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of The Mount RC Church in Warren. She was also a member of the Warren Seniors. She was a warm and inspiring woman who touched the lives of all around her. She enjoyed sewing and reading, but most of all loved spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her husband Ulysses Michaels in 1984, her mother Beatrice Robbins in 1994, her brother Henry Robbins in 2011 and her son-in-law Joseph Banfield in 2012. Surviving are her daughters Carole Banfield of Warren, Patricia Michaels of Warren and Mary Vroman and her husband John of Clifton Park, NY; 5 grandchildren Michael Banfield, Deborah Banfield-Rebetje, John, Allaire and Michael Vroman; 7 great-grandchildren Kyle and Kaitlyn Banfield, Sarah, Jeremy and Nicholas Rebetje, Dillon Vroman and Vanessa Garcia. Lovingly known as "Granny" to her great-grandchildren she followed their lives and activities with the same devotion and support she gave her children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 25th, 2013 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel, Warren. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave. Menands NY 12204
