Obituary of Claire Katherine Ostergaard

Avenel: Claire Katherine (Steans) Ostergaard, age 88, died on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the Greenbrook Manor Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Green Brook. Claire was born in Perth Amboy and had lived in Avenel for over 60 years. She was a member of the Danish Sisterhood in Edison. Claire enjoyed ceramics, china painting, needlework, and all types of crossword puzzles. She is predeceased by her husband, Martin Peter Ostergaard II in 1978. Claire is survived by her daughter, Gail Nemson of Martinsville; her two sons, Martin Peter Ostergaard III of New Hampshire and Glenn Ostergaard of California; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America, New Jersey Chapter, 45 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, NJ 07726.
