Obituary of Josephine Castro

Josephine (Todd) Castro, age 90, died on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at her home in North Plainfield. Born in Manhattan she grew up on Staten Island, before residing in North Plainfield since 1941. Mrs. Castro had worked as a sales clerk for Teppers and then at Boins Arts & Crafts in Plainfield before retiring. She was a member of St. Josephs Church in North Plainfield. Josephine was the official coffeemaker for her Senior Citizens group. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph N. Castro, Sr. in 1989 and her daughter baby Arlene Castro. Surviving are her sons Joseph Rick Castro, Jr. and James Castro and his wife Mary; grandchildren Terry and Bob Castro. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Josephs R.C. Church in North Plainfield. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 669 Littleton Rd.
