Obituary of Elizabeth M. Thorp

Miss Elizabeth M. Thorp, 85, daughter of the late Owen and Lillian Williams Thorp, Sr., died Friday, December 21, 2007 at Renaissance Gardens, Tinton Falls. Born in Plainfield, she resided in Warren until 10 years ago, when she moved to Tinton Falls. Prior to retiring 20 years ago, she was employed for 35 years as a clerk for Union Carbide, formerly known as Bakelite in Bound Brook. A longtime member of Trinity United Church in Warren, she was also a member of the Warren Senior Citizens. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, traveling and fishing. Surviving are a brother Owen Thorp, Jr. of Chester, MD, 2 nephews, a niece, 5 grandnieces and 2 grandnephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 29 at a time to be announced at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by interment at Trinity United Church Cemetery in Warren. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
