Obituary of Ruby Brighton

Piscataway: Ruby Studivant Brighton, 76, died Friday, December 21, 2007 at her home. Born and raised in Plainfield, she moved to Piscataway 46 years ago. Prior to retiring in 1992, Ruby was employed as a training tech by the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services in Green Brook for 12 years. Rubys favorite pass time was spending time with her family and friends. Her parents, Isaac Hayes and Marie Studivant, ex-husband William Brighton, Sr, and daughter, Debra Marie Studivant all predeceased her. Surviving are her five sons, William Jr. of Plainfield, Theodore of Ontario, CA, Brian of Hazelton, PA, David of Atlanta, GA and Craig of Plainfield; four daughters, Patricia Adams of Plainfield, Terri Brighton of Piscataway, Toni Brighton of Plainfield and Gina Frederick and her husband Russell of Plainfield; 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and her extended family and devoted friends. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 11:00 am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Plainfield followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7-9 pm at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield.
