Obituary of Chester L. Frankel

Chester L. Frankel, age 84, died on December 26, 2007, at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided in Warren before moving to Watchung. Mr. Frankel was a Veteran of World War II serving in the Army. He graduated from NYU in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Chester was the founder of Lewis-Chester Associates, Inc. originally located in Hillside before moving to Summit. He was the past President of Eastern Union County Board of Realtors, President of Metro Builders Association of NJ and Life Director of NJ Apartment House Association. Mr. Frankel was a member and past President of the Lions Club and a member of Twin Brooks Country Club in Watchung. Surviving are his wife Idaline (Augusta) Frankel; his son L. William Frankel and his wife Beth of Bernardsville; his daughters Susan Slate and her husband Dr. Jerome Slate of Lexington, MA; Judy Frankel of Carlsbad, CA and Donna Manganelli of Nazareth, PA; and seven grandchildren Ben, Andrea, Laura, Joey, Dana, Alex and Ruthie. Friends and relatives are invited to gather on Sunday, December 30th from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ, followed by a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to your favorite charity in his name.
