Obituary of George Leroy Kuenzi

Berkeley Heights: Mr. George Leroy Kuenzi, 81, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at Runnells Specialized Hospital in Berkeley Heights. Born in Elizabeth, he resided in Bridgewater for forty years before moving to Berkeley Heights. Prior to retiring, Mr. Kuenzi was employed in maintenance for 20 years at Somerset Medical Center and previously for 20 years by S E Vernon in Elizabeth. He served in the US Navy aboard the LST during WWII and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW Post 1400 of . His parents, George A. Kuenzi and Ruth Kuenzi, his wife, Frances Kuenzi and his sister, Eleanor Wisler and her husband Peter all predeceased him. Surviving are a son, Michael Kuenzi of Wildwood, a sister, Jean Sandorse and her husband Bernard of Berkeley Heights, a sister-in-law, Patricia Bognes of Arizona, a brother-in-law, Walter Koval and his wife Lois of Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung.
