Obituary of Anne C. Baxter
Warren: Anne (Cignarelli) Baxter, age 94, died Saturday, January 5, 2008, at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater. Born in Brooklyn, Anne lived in Jersey City for over sixty-five years before moving to Warren with her daughter and son-in law.
Mrs. Baxter was a service clerk for Western Electric in Kearny for twenty-two years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America since 1968 and was a member of Western Electrics Garden Club where she received many awards for growing Peace Roses. Anne had also worked as a Hairdresser for ten years.
She loved traveling and spending time with her Pomeranians Holly and Noelle. A member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Jersey City, she was a Girl Scout Leader there for twelve years. Anne volunteered for twenty six years and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Christ Hospital, Jersey City.
She loved gardening, reading, knitting, baking and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Baxter, their daughter, Francene O Connell, her grandsons, Robert and Matthew O Connell and a great-grandson, Timothy O Connell.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda de Marsi and her husband Vito; her brother, Mickey Cignarelli; son-in law, Patrick O Connell; grandsons, Richard, Timothy, PJ O Connell and David and Michael de Marsi; granddaughters, Taryn Tiernan, Bunni Carroll and Nancy de Marsi; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 9th, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church, Warren and entombment at Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Somerset Hills Adult Day Care, 200 Mt.
