Obituary of Lillie Mae Murphy

Lillie Mae Murphy, died Saturday, January 19, 2008, at her home in Plainfield. Born in Hallsboro, N.C., Mrs. Murphy lived in Plainfield most of her life. She attended the Plainfield School system and was employed by the Plainfield Board of Education as a bus assistant for 12 years. Surviving are her husband, Hermon L. Murphy; her mother, Lizzie Graham of Plainfield; one son, Archie (Nicky) Murphy of Russellville, KY; three daughters, Zina (Son-in-law - Michael) Venson, Chanda Murphy and Angela (Jeanine) Murphy; two brothers, Honnie L. Graham and Sylvester Graham; two sisters, Lorraine Graham and Wanda Conway; one granddaughter, Kenisha Murphy and one grandson, Michale Graham, all of Plainfield and a host of loving nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and other relatives. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Higgins Home For Funerals, 209 W. Eighth Street, Plainfield followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
