Obituary of Dorothy C. Godlewski

Dorothy C. Godlewski, age 77, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Green Brook Manor Care Center in Green Brook. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, grew up in Maspeth, Queens and had lived in Bayonne and Fords before moving to South Plainfield. Mrs. Godlewski was a homemaker. She was a Communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. Mrs. Godlewski enjoyed bowling and won many awards in her league. She traveled to Europe, Hawaii, Atlantic City and Las Vegas and enjoyed going on Polka Weekends in the Catskills. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Francis W. Godlewski; her sons, John Godlewski and his wife, Gina of Hillsborough and Kenny Godlewski of Asbury; her daughters, Janice George of South Plainfield, Carol Petroski and her husband, Frank of Woodbridge Township and Barbara Frederick and her husband, Raymond of Edison and her sister Fran Engel of Whitehouse Station. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Danielle, Thomas and Grace Petroski, Zack George, Anthony Godlewski, John Michael and Nicholas Godlewski and her great grandchild, Talan John Hawkins. Visitation will be on Friday, April 5th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Hoes Lane in Piscataway, NJ.
