Obituary of Marie T. Cicala

Marie T. Cicala, age 77, died on Sunday, March 9th, 2008 at Stone Bridge Health Center in Austin, Texas. Born and raised in Brooklyn, she had resided in Watchung from 1967-2003, before moving to Texas 3 years ago. Prior to retiring, Marie had worked as an Executive Assistant to the Vice Chairman of the Board at Chase Manhattan Bank, NY. She then went on to work for Horst Stormer, the Nobel Prize Winner in Physics, at Bell Labs in Murray Hill, NJ. A former communicant of St. Marys Stony Hill Church, Watchung, Marie loved traveling with her dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially on holidays. Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joseph John Cicala. Marie is survived by her two daughters Joanne Cicala Inscore, and her husband Gordon, of Texas and Toni and her husband Michael; her brother Paul Renna and his wife Geri, of Long Island, NY; granddaughter Jenna Marie Inscore and 4 step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 15th at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church, Watchung. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery. Visitation is on Friday from 1-4 & 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association, Somerset Office, 19 School House Road, Somerset, NJ 08873.
