Obituary of Dennis J. Pickerell

Warren: Dennis J. Pickerell, age 48, died on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at his home in Warren. A lifelong resident of Warren, he was employed as a truck driver for Prospect Transportation, Inc. in Carlstadt, previously known as Dean Oil in Fanwood for over 25 years. At the age of 16, Dennis joined the Community Volunteer Fire Department in Warren as a junior fireman. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed automobile mechanics, watching auto racing, cooking and performing handyman tasks around his home. Surviving are his son, Patrick PJ Pickerell and his wife Holly of Calabash, NC; two daughters, Christina and Jessica Pickerell; a brother, Paul Pickerell, and his parents Everett and Elaine Pickerell, all of Warren. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14th from 6 to 8 p.m and Saturday March 15th from 2-4 p.m. with a 3 p.m. Remembrance Service at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Cremation is private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Atlantic Home Care & Hospice, 33 Bleeker Street, Millburn, NJ 07041 or the American Cancer Society would be deeply appreciated.
