My condolences to all of your family and friends. I am so sorry I was not at the services, I did not know.
I had the privilege of growing up with Jimmy, better known as “Jimmy O”. He was always funny and great to be around! You will be missed. God Bless.

To all of Jimmy's family my deepest sympathy.
While I have not seen Jimmy in over 25 years he actually was in my thoughts just a week or so ago while going through a shoebox of awards and clipping my parents had saved for me. The clipping of Jimmy as Senior Patrol Leader leading the Troop at an Eagle ceremony brought back a memory of my final “high adventure canoe trip” that summer to upstate NY.
Growing up all the kids in the neighborhood were friends.
I am fortunate that I had the added gift to know Jimmy his love for the outdoors and his respect for others through scouting.
Reading through the memorials posted here it is clear that the character that was present in our youth shined in his brief adulthood.

Until this August, I only knew Jimmy through conversations with Paula. We stayed at their condo in Monroe and Jimmy was always the last person to bed. He was hanging out with all us 'kids', watching "Roadhouse" or just sitting on the back patio talking about life. We had 5 people sleeping in their 2 bedroom condo, and well, if it were my house... I'd probably be less than pleasant about all this people being in my space. But he wasn't, he always came down with a smile and was the first to laugh at a joke. And to see how happy him and Paula were together was the most enjoyable to me. Watching them sneak out to the boat to get a little fishing in, before the day started or just giving each other a hug. It was nice. Everyone deserves to be that happy even if for a moment of their life. I really believe Jimmy was happy and content with his life with Paula. And for that he is blessed.

Jim and Paula attended my parents 50th wedding anniversary in Bonita Springs, FL in 2004. Jim was a reserved, very kind, and congenial guy. He and Paula hosted a Conklin/Linguanti family get together in Monroe in August 2007. He and Paula worked very hard putting the event together, managing the food and drink and still somehow managed to be a part of the fun. He and Paula warmly welcomed us back to their home and hosted a more intimate gathering for immediate family and friends over the next several days. The serenity of the lake and surrounding area was very calming. They made a lasting memory for my mother Jean Conklin and my sister Val who celebrated her 50th birthday party with Jim, Paula, George, Sue, Nicole, Brent, Michael, Kristy, Jim Muckler, Nancy, Ray, Debi, Travis, Dale, and Eleanor Pulis. Can't forget the wonderful lakeside restaurant where we capped off the memorable visit. Thanks for the warm and welcoming friendship! You'll always be considered a member of our family.
