Obituary of Joyce A. Gray

Joyce A. Gray, age 75, died on Saturday April 13, 2013 at her home in Plainfield surrounded by her family. Born in New York City NY the only child to John and Hattie M. James, Mrs. Gray had resided most of her life in Plainfield. Prior to her retirement Mrs. Gray worked as a home health aide for the State of New Jersey for 16 years in Plainfield. Mrs. Gray was a member of the Kingdom Hall- Jehovah Witnesses on Woodland Ave. Plainfield. She loved to travel especially to Europe and Hawaii. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Simmie Gray of Plainfield; three sons Mark Kemper Sr. and his wife Helen of NYC, Orlando Casado Jr. and his wife Lisa of North Plainfield NJ and Simmie Gray Jr. of Plainfield; a daughter Christina Newsome of Watchung, nine grandchildren Zyykirrah, Zeneta and Orlando III Casado, Mark Jr., Melody and Helena Kemper, Amir and Alexis Newsome and Aiden Diaz. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren Zy'kir, Zy'aire, Brody and Kashmir and a son-in-law Brandon Newsome. A visitation will be held on Thursday April 18, 2013 from 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 209 West 8th St. Plainfield NJ. The funeral service will be on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11:30 am at the funeral home followed by the committal service at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown NJ.
