Obituary of Antonio Jose Martins

Antonio Jose Martins, age 81, died on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was born in Escarei, Ribeira de Pena, Portugal and had lived in Elizabeth for 40 years before moving to Bound Brook in 2006. Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed in the construction industry. Mr. Martins was very handy and loved working with his tools. He loved to cook and make wine for his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Teresa A. Martins; his daughter, Lurdes Martins Anastacio and her husband, George Manuel of Bridgewater; his brothers, Abilio Martins of Portugal and Peter J. Martins of Crystal River, FL; his sister, Maria Martins Mendonca of Fall Brook, CA and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin on Monday, April 22nd at 9:30 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:30 am funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel. Interment will be at Bound Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
