Obituary of Peter Holowka
Peter Holowka, age 87, died on Tuesday, April 29th, 2008, at his home in Scotch Plains. Born in Jersey City, he had resided in Scotch Plains since 1927.
He was a Machine Operator with Boyle Midway in Cranford for twelve years before retiring in 1984. An Army Veteran of World War II, he had served with the 706th Tank Battalion, 11th and 148th Infantry Division from 1942-1945.
Peter was predeceased by his brothers John, Nick, George and Paul Holowka.
Surviving are his three sons, Peter of London, England; Kevin of Union and Brian of San Diego, California; his brothers, Andrew of Scotch Plains and Stephen of Florida; sisters, Helen Jarema of Edison and Terry Kochut of Scotch Plains and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
