Obituary of Fred S Podinker

Roseland: Fred S. Podinker, age 67, died on Saturday May10, 2008 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Fred was born in Plainfield and had resided in Nutley before moving to Roseland forty years ago. Prior to his retirement Fred worked as a plumber for the Plumbers Union Local #1 in Brooklyn for forty-four years. After his retirement in December of 2005 Fred worked for the City of New York as a plumbing inspector until recently. Fred was very active in the plumbers union, had coached football and baseball and was very dedicated to his family. He is predeceased by his brother Melvyn J. Podinker in 2008. Surviving are his wife Marilyn (Gross) Podinker; two sons Alan R. Podinker and his wife Blanca of Milltown, Glen J. Podinker and his wife Barbara of Livingston; a daughter Michelle D. Messarosh and her husband David of Warren. Fred is also survived by three grandchildren Kendyl, Brooke, Danyka, and a fourth on the way. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday May 13, 2008 at Higgins Home for Funerals 209 West 8th St. Plainfield NJ with Rabbi Moshe Samber officiating. Interment to follow at Hebrew Cemetery in South Plainfield.
