Obituary of Stanley A. Veracca

North Plainfield: Stanley A. Veracca, age 93, died on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at his home in North Plainfield. He was born in Kaska, PA and had lived in South Plainfield before moving to North Plainfield 56 years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1980, Mr. Veracca was the Head of Maintenance at Sears in Watchung. He then worked part time in various jobs, one of which was at the Villa Maria. In his spare time, Mr. Veracca would help his children, grandchildren, neighbors, family and friends with his special skills of being able to fix just about anything and as a great painter. Mr. Veracca was a communicant of St. Josephs R.C. Church for 56 years and a member of the North Plainfield Senior Citizens Group. He is predeceased by his wife, Frances Marie Lech Veracca in 2005. Surviving are his daughters, Jean F. Miller and her husband, Frank of North Plainfield and Rose Marie Hann and her husband Robert of Toms River; His son, Robert Veracca and his wife, Angela of Saugerties, NY; his sisters, Ann Sideck of South Plainfield, Florence ONeil of Westfield, Sophie Meekins of Westfield; and his brother Joe Veracca of Lafayette, Indiana. Also surviving are his 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Resurrection at St. Josephs Church in North Plainfield. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm
