Obituary of Hans D. Haenchen

Hans D. Haenchen, age 71, died on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Hans was born in Niesky Germany to the late Gerhard A. Haenchen and Margarete Tiedt. He had lived in Elizabeth prior to residing in North Plainfield in 1993. He worked for American Wear Company in East Orange for 4 years as a supervisor. Hans has been a member of the Mason and Shriners since 1972. He enjoyed painting, swimming and crafts. Hans is survived by his son, Peter H. Haenchen and his wife Geri; two daughters, Monica A. Latona and Silvia Haenchen; four brothers, Klaus F. and his wife Robin, Hans J. and his wife Suzan, Juergen and his wife Eva M. and Ludwig Haenchen; one sister, Marianne Haenchen; five grandchildren, Denny-Marie, Ashley, Peter, Jr., Michael and Desiree. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 18th from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. Cremation is private.
