Obituary of Mildred L. Wescott

Mildred L. Wescott, 72, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at St. Barnabas Hospital Burn Center in Livingston. Born in Lincolnton, GA, Mrs. Wescott resided in Plainfield for over 57 years. Mildred was the daughter of the late John Martin and the late Catherine Martin Rouse of Plainfield. She graduated from Plainfield High School and attended Morgan State University in Maryland. She worked as a nurse at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Lyons VA Medical Center in Lyons, NJ and as a home care nurse. She is survived by her husband of over 46 years, Harry G. Wescott Sr. of Plainfield; daughter Felecia C. Wescott of Schenectady, NY; son Harry G. Wescott Jr. of Euless, TX; her two sisters, Essie Smith and Margie Marshall both of Plainfield; her two brothers John Martin of Decatur, AL and Willie Martin of Plainfield. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Community Baptist Church, 20 Grove Street, North Plainfield. Visitation will be on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. in Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
