Obituary of Frederick W. Kugelman

Frederick W. Kugelman, age 79, died on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Fred was born in Newark and has resided in Watchung for 50 years. He worked for the New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company for 41 years as a claims adjuster. He has been a communicant and usher at St. Mary Stony Hill Church in Watchung for 45 years. Fred served in the Army during the Korean War. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Post #5959 and also the VFW. He was a life long Giants and Red Sox fan, and he enjoyed bowling and fishing. Fred is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marjorie C. (Frusco) Kugelman; his two sons, Frederick Charles Kugelman and his wife Donna of Long Valley; James Joseph Kugelman and his wife Kathy of Naperville, IL; two daughters, Lynn Guthreau and her husband Gary of Dunellen; Nancy Cortese and her husband Paul of Califon; also seven grandchildren, Shawn, Nicole, Jeremy, Evan, Jenna, Dax and Kayla. The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 9 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Mary Stony Hill R.C. Church, Watchung. Entombment will be in St. Mary Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung. The visitation will be on Wednesday, June 18th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
