Obituary of Dr. Premanand J. Bhatt

Dr. Premanand J. Bhatt, age 80, died on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark. He was born in Sri Lanka and moved to England when he was 15 years old. He moved to the United States in 1974 and retired to Sugar Land, TX 10 years ago. Dr. Bhatt received his PhD in Engineering from the University of Nottingham in England. One of his engineering designs was the Jodrall Bank Observatory in England in 1957. He is predeceased by his wife, Nalini Bhatt in 1978. Surviving are his daughters, Namita Nayak and her husband, Ramkrishna and Nilima Palekar and her husband, Dr. Sadanand and his grandchildren, Sachin, Nikhil, Rachel and Nathan. Funeral services will held on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069 followed by cremation at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
