Obituary of Anthony Sodano
Anthony Sodano, age 90, died peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Newark he moved to Green Brook in 1962.
A Veteran of World War II, he served in the Army, receiving Military Honors. Before retiring he worked as a Jeweler at American Jewelers in Newark for 25 years then at Phillips & Company in Bernardsville.
A communicant of St. Johns R.C. Church, Dunellen. He enjoyed golf; The Yankees and spending time at his summer home in the Poconos.
He is predeceased by his wife Agnes Megaro Sodano in 1973, his daughter Judith Sodano in 1985 and his two sisters Florence Tartaglia and Ann Sodano.
Surviving are his daughters Karen Sodano and Bernadette Borbely and her husband Bill; grandchildren Nicole and Anthony Borbely; brothers Frank and William Sodano.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Johns R.C. Church, Dunellen. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery, Union.
