Obituary of Laura S. Heim

North Plainfield: Laura S. Heim, 89, died July 3, 2008 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. She was born in Belmar, NJ and graduated from Lakewood High School. She came to Plainfield in 1937 to enter nurses training at Muhlenberg Hospital where she met Charles E. heim, who she was married to for 38 years until his death in 1978. Laura was a sculpture teacher at the North Plainfield Adult School and for over 20 years at the Plainfield Senior Citizen Center. Surviving are a daughter, Cathy Corner and her husband Robert, of Middlesex; two grandsons, Rodd Corner of Jersey and his fianc Annemarie DePrimo, Chad Corner and his wife Kelly of Washington, NJ and twin great-granddaughters, Abigail and Kaitlin. Visitation will be from 2-4 on Monday, July 7, 2008 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on July 8, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, NJ. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Childrens Specialized Hospital, New Providence Road, Mountainside, NJ 07092.
