Obituary of George T. Polizzano

George T. Polizzano, 80, died on Thursday July 10, 2008 at Muhlenburg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Mr. Polizzano was born in Manhattan and has resided in Plainfield, New Jersey for the past 68 years. Mr. Polizzano served in the US Navy during World War II. Prior to his retirement Mr. Polizzano was employed at Puglisi Insurance Agency in Scotch Plains, New Jersey as an insurance agent for over 40 years. Mr. Polizzano was a communicant of St. Bernards R.C. Church, Plainfield, where he was very active. He was the former president of the Italian American Club in North Plainfield. Mr. Polizzano was also a member of the Plainfield Crusaders where he served as the clubs treasurer. He was also an avid Yankee fan. He is predeceased by his sister, Concetta Polizzano and a grandson, Anthony Nicolas Polizzano. Surviving are his four sons, Frank P. and his wife Josiane of Bridgewater, George M. and his wife Debra of Ortley Beach, Thomas of North Plainfield and John and his wife Diane of South Plainfield; his daughter; LeeAnne Coletta and her husband John of South Plainfield; his sisters Rose Rendino of Toms River and Lillian DeLucca of South Plainfield. Also surviving are his 10 grandchildren; Cristina, Gina, John, Mathew, Ray, Alex, Michael J., Nicholas, Michael and David. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. from Higgins Home For Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. mass of resurrection at St. Bernards R.C. Church, Plainfield. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Saturday July 12 from 5-9 p.m. and Sunday July 13 from 2-4:30 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory can be made to St. Bernards R.C.
