Obituary of Lawrence L. Olejar, Sr.

Watchung: Lawrence L. Olejar, Sr., age 76, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and had lived in Watchung for the past 38 years. Prior to his retirement in 1998, Mr. Olejar was the president of US Filter Domestic and International in Warren. He was a communicant of St. Marys Stony Hill Church in Watchung and was the former president of the Watchung Little League in 1970s. He, along with the Optimist Club was instrumental in building 3 ball parks in Phillips Field. He enjoyed opera, dining out, world travel and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He also raised Doberman Pinschers and had a show champion, Anastasia. Mr. Olejar is survived by his wife, Andriana A. Cascone Olejar; his son, Lawrence Olejar, Jr. and his wife, Litty; his grandchildren, Larry Olejar, III and Lacey Olejar and his mother, Helen Barylska Olejar. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by entombment at St. Marys Stony Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
