Obituary of Joan M. Wellet

Joan Wellet, age 80, died peacefully on Saturday, August 16th, 2008 at the Clark Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Clark, NJ, surrounded by family. Born on June 27, 1928 and raised in Olyphant, Pa. Joan lived most of her adult life in NJ. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Beatrice (Durkin) White. She was predeceased by her husbands, Canio Connie Simone and Michael Wellet; her son Thomas A. Simone; her brothers Patrick Joseph White, Thomas White, James White and her sister Louise White Myers. She is survived by her brothers Walter White and his wife Alice of Swiftwater, PA; Francis White and his wife Lillian of Pittston, PA; three grandchildren Thomas Simone of Toms River, NJ; Karen Barton of Edison, NJ and Anthony Simone of Brick, NJ; one great-grandson Michael Smith of Edison, NJ and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two daughters-in-law Joannie Simone of Green Brook, NJ and Eileen Simone of Roselle Park, NJ; her sister-in-law Katherine White of Mine Hill, NJ. Funeral arrangements are private under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
