Obituary of Phyllis A. Toms

Phyllis A. Toms, age 77, died on Saturday August 30, 2008 at her home. Born and raised in Plainfield, Mrs. Toms moved to Warren in 1959 and had resided there until moving to Annandale eight years ago. Prior to her retirement in 1996, Phyllis worked as a registered nurse for The Summit Medical Group in Summit. She is a former member of Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church in Warren and a member of the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed baking cookies for family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Kenneth G. Toms Sr. in 1985 Surviving are a son Kenneth Toms Jr. of Annandale; a brother Robert Murphy and his wife Audrey; a granddaughter Abbey Toms and a sister-in-law Joyce Murphy. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday September 3, 2008 at Higgins Home for Funerals, followed by a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel in Warren. Interment will be held at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
