Obituary of Dorothy H. Walters
Plainfield: Dorothy Horowitz Walters, age 82, died peacefully on Thursday, October 16. 2008 at her home with her sons around her.
She was born in Bronx, NY and has lived in Plainfield most of her life. Dorothy was a Horticulturalist and the owner and operator of Interior Plantings in Plainfield for over 30 years.
Dorothy was an active member of Temple Sholom formally located in Plainfield, but now located in Fanwood. She was the President of the Field Avenue Block Association. Dorothy loved traveling, cooking, batiking, gardening and horticulture. But most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, Frederick A. Walters in 1990.
She is survived by her 4 sons, Mark and his wife Terry of Chatham, NJ; Steven of Santa Cruz, CA; Eric and his wife Maxine of Maidens, VA; Richard and his wife Judy of Kendall Park, NJ; one brother, Harold Horowitz of Richmond, VA and 5 grandchildren, Todd, Elissa, Rebecca, Lauren and Sam Walters.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 19th at 2 p.m. in Temple Sholom, 74 South Martine Avenue, Fanwood. The interment will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin.
