Obituary of Mary Flomerfelt

Mary R. Flomerfelt, age 83, formerly of New Brunswick, died on Friday October 31, 2008 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Mrs. Flomerfelt was born in New Brunswick on March 22, 1925. Mrs. Flomerfelt was a parishioner of Our Lady of The Mount R.C. Church in Warren. She was a graduate of New Brunswick High School and Drakes Business School. She was a fantastic baker and Hungarian cook. Mary was a world traveler who loved nature, animals and often rescuing mistreated animals. Mary volunteered at Muhlenberg Hospital and did fundraising for Warren Township Rescue Squad. She enjoyed drawing, singing at St. Josephs Church, and spending time with her granddaughters. She is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Julia (Petruska) Ruszinko, and her sister Emma. Mrs. Flomerfelt is survived by her beloved son Douglas, daughter-in-law Pamela; her two granddaughters Lisa and Wendy; a brother and sister-in-law Emil and Mary Ruszinko; two nieces Susan Corino and Mary Ann Ruszinko; a grandniece and nephew Lillie and Tyler; and sister-in-law Carol Flomerfelt Seymour. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 5, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church in Warren. Interment will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, New Brunswick. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. only.
