Obituary of Henry Cabot Lawrence

Warren: Henry Cabot Lawrence, age 91, died on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at his home. He was born in Kingston, England and had lived in North Branch, North Arlington and Jersey City before moving to Warren in 1950. Prior to his retirement at the age of 65, Mr. Lawrence was a Research and Development Engineer for American Cyanamid in Bound Brook for over 40 years. While he was there, he held several patents. He was a member of the Board of Education, the Planning Board and the Sewage Authority, all in Warren. He was the Clerk for the Warren Township Library and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Masons. He loved to square dance and was a member of the Metuchen Square Dance Club. He also enjoyed midget racing. Mr. Lawrence is predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Helene Stephens Lawrence in 2007. Surviving are his daughters, Beverly Webb and Barbara Gordon; his sons, Bruce Lawrence and Richard Lawrence; Peter Gordon, Louise Nelson, his grandchildren, Paul Manger and his wife, Dr. Natasha Rodgers, Kevin Gordon, Kelly Lawrence Watkins, Katie Lawrence, David Lawrence, William Lawrence and Emily Lawrence. Also surviving is his great-grand daughter, Kayleigh Watkins. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning November 11, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Somerset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Basking Ridge. Visitation will be Monday, November 10, 2008 from 7:00 - 9:00pm only at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung.
