Obituary of Doris Q. Ginty

Doris Q. Ginty Devoted Wife, Loving Mother & Grandmother Basking Ridge: Doris "Dottie" Ginty, age 86, died on Saturday, November 08, 2008 at her daughter's home peacefully with her family beside her. She was born in Morristown, had lived 43 years in North Plainfield, before moving to Basking Ridge 8 years ago. Dottie was an active member of the Church of the Holy Cross in North Plainfield. She was a member of their Altar Guild, and was in charge of their Cradle Roll. Dottie also was active in the North Plainfield PTA, the Parent's Band Association, and she was also a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. Dotti would always open her home up to all her children's friends. Her most precious and enjoyable time was always spent with her family and grandchildren. Dottie is predeceased by her loving husband of 61years, Edwin F. Ginty in 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Donna L. Importico and her husband Ronald of Warren; two sons, Edwin F. Ginty Jr. and his wife Jacquelyn of Loveland, CO; Donald L. Ginty and his wife Patricia of Lebanon; one brother, DeWitt Clinton Quinby of Easton, PA; two sisters, Margaret Hopper of Whiting and Gladys Holmes of Erlanger, KY; 6 grandchildren, Michael and Colleen Ginty; Ryan and Heather Importico; Douglas Ginty and his wife Judy; Laura Hall and her husband Tory; and 5 great grandchildren, Trevor, Riley and Caleb Hall; Conor and Erin Ginty. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 12th at 9 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Holy Cross, 40 Mercer Avenue, North Plainfield. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Entombment will be at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
