Obituary of Hermina Maxey

Hermina (Mickey) Maxey, age 85, died on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Manor Care in Mountainside. She was born and raised in Plainfield and spent most of her life in Warren. Mrs. Maxey was a homemaker. She took after her father who was a tailor in Plainfield. She was an avid seamstress who made most of her own clothing. She enjoyed her time at the Elks Club in Warren with her late husband. Mrs. Maxey is predeceased by her husband, Albert L. Maxey and her son Albert J. Maxey. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Gembarowicz and his wife Kathy; her nieces, Kristen and Kimberly and a great-niece, Kaylin, of North Carolina. Also surviving are her nephew Ron Strickland and his wife Karen and their daughter, Melissa of Florida. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by interment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9.
