Obituary of Leonard J. Zuzzio

Leonard J. Zuzzio, age 70, died on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Hillsborough. He was born and raised in Plainfield and had lived in Green Brook for 27 years before moving to Palm Coast, FL. Leonard served as a police officer in Plainfield and Watchung. He also served as Director of Security at Raritan Valley Community College and retired as Deputy Warden of Somerset County. He was an avid Yankee and Giants fan. He also loved golfing and bowling. Leonard is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Grace; his daughters, Andrea Graham and her husband, George, Cheryl and her partner, Doug Cucchiaro and Kimberly Zuzzio all of Hillsborough; his dearest grandchildren, Gina and Stephen and his dear sisters, Donna Hainey and her husband Robert, Cheryl Grant and her husband Arthur. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, February 24th at 9:15 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at St. Luke's Church in North Plainfield. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
