Obituary of Carmen Wilda Ortiz

Carmen Ortiz, age 69, died on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at her home in Ramsey. Born in Puerto Rico, she moved to New York City as a child with her mother, Carmen Marrero and married Andres Ortiz on June 6th, 1960. She and her family lived in Queens, NY, Puerto Rico and Mahwah, NJ. She moved to Ramsey 5 years ago. Mrs. Ortiz worked in accounting for Minolta in Ramsey prior to retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her large family, traveling and was an avid bowler and tennis player. Her greatest joy was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She is predeceased by her husband Andres Ortiz in 2008. Surviving are her sons Carlos, Richard and Victor Ortiz; her brother Nelson Rodriguez and her two grandchildren Andres and Alejandro. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Martinsville. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
