Obituary of Amato DellaFortuna

Amato DellaFortuna, age 76, died on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born October 15, 1932 in Nusco Avellino Italy. Prior to moving to the United States in 1958 Amato served as a Carabinieri in Livorno, Italy for 10 years.He was employed by Koba Corporation as a Supervisor for 40 years.Amato was involved with the North Plainfield Senior citizens and a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield. He enjoyed working around the yard, going on cruises and spending time with family and friends.Survived by his wife of 51 years Rocchina (DiPaolo) DellaFortuna, a daughter Roseann Patullo and her husband Joseph and granddaughter Adriana Patullo. Also survived by his brothers Alfonso of Switzerland, Gerardo, Armando and Mario all of North Plainfield; brother-in-law Giuseppe and sister-in-laws Maria, Rosario, Elia, Paula, Maria, Vincenza and Matilde and nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in North Plainfield. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater.
