Bette and Bob Van Winkle have been my parents for over 20 years. I don't say in-laws because to me they were parents. Two more warm, loving and welcoming people I couldn't have been blessed with. I always felt their love, their caring, and their strength through the years. They are missed and have left a whole in my heart. May God Bless and Keep them in his Loving Care.
Dad,
Your life was Full,
it had joys and sorrows,
and for your family,
you had dreams for tomorrow.
You Laughed, Loved and Lived,
with all that you had,
and with your dying
it's made us all sad.
With your Life ended,
My heart aches in my chest,
it pains at our loss,
as you go to your rest.
But your dreams for tomorrow,
we will continue to grow,
and they'll help overcome,
the pain and the sorrow.
We'll remember you always,
with a twinkle in your eye & smiling face,
and the sorrows we feel,
those joyous memories can replace.
We Love you Still
and even though your no longer here,
In our thoughts,and our memories,
and in our Hearts you're always near.
Love

To the Van Winkle family we are sorry to hear of the loss of your father. We met Bob & Betty in the late 1980's at Okeechobee Landings RV park in Clewiston, Fl. We have wonderful memories of the times we shared there. They attended our 50th wedding anniversary in Jan of 1999 in Alabama. We planned to attend their's the following year, due to my wife's illness we was unable to. We will always remember them. May our Heavenly Father comfort you at this time. To all the VanWinkles,
My thoughts and prayers are with you as I remember another great fireman who was always a positive fixture of Community Volunteer Co #3. As a young child, I remember, Mr. VanWinkle as the friendly man who always looked liked Santa. May he rest in peace as he now joins Mrs. VanWinkle. Love, Roberta

I remember Bob who was my wifes uncle as a very giving man. Bob helped us with the electricity when we bought our first home. He and Bette were a very nice couple. Bob always had a smile and pleasant greeting. Bob may you rest in peace. My thought and prayers are with your family.

My sincerest condolences to the families at this difficult time. I remember your dad as a sincere man, with a wonderful sense of humor, and an infectious smile.
I didn't know the fireman - so much as the RV traveler. I know he was proud of what he had accomplished in life; with his career (saving enough to live his dreams), and with his fabulous family.
He will be missed.
With deepest sympathies,
Lynda, Robert, William & Jenny Morris

Doug and Family,
We are sorry to hear of the loss of Bob, another mentor of the Warren Fire Dept. I will always fondly remember the red and white VW bus with the red light on all the fire calls. Never excitment in his voice on the radio, always calm on the scene of many emergencies no matter what it was. A-19 was always available serving the citizens of Warren. A-23 signal 108. Rest in peace Bob you earned it.
