Obituary of Irene G. Zulus

Irene G. Zulus, age 83, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Plains, PA and was a lifelong North Plainfield.Prior to her retirement in 1985, Mrs. Zulus was a waitress at the Sleepy Hollow Inn in Scotch Plains for over 30 years.She was a communicant of St. Joseph's RC Church in North Plainfield. Mrs. Zulus is predeceased by her husband, William Zulus in 1983.She is survived by her loving daughters, Deborah LaVigne of Middlesex and Joan Callegher and her husband Richard of Toms River; her beloved grandchildren, Melissa Gonzalez and her husband, Carlos and Matthew LaVigne; her sons, David Zulus of Flemington and Jerome Zulus and her dear sister, Sr. Michele Grodzinski of Reading. PA. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces and loving friends.Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by interment at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 785 Springfield Ave., Summit, NJ 07091.
