Obituary of Margaret M. Muccigrossi

Margaret M. Muccigrossi, age 88, died on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Margaret was born and raised in Plainfield to the late Michael Campolitano and Louise Viola. She is a former communicant of St. Bernard's R.C. Church in Plainfield. Margaret worked in the Plainfield Public School system as a cafeteria worker in Maxson Middle School for 25 years. Margaret loved cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Margaret is predeceased by her husband, Nicholas J. Muccigrossi in 1990 and her son, Gary T. Muccigrossi in 2008. She is survived by her two sons, Frank C. Muccigrossi of Plainfield and Robert J. Muccigrossi and his wife Regina of Belle Mead; her daughter, Maureen A. Pratt and her husband John of North Plainfield; her daughter-in-law Gina Muccigrossi of South Plainfield; one brother, Vincent Campolitano of Bridgewater; three sisters, Josephine Stripto and Jean Vandergriff both of Plainfield and Lois Henderson of South Plainfield; 8 grandchildren, Bryan, John, Nicole, Jason, Matthew, Michael, Anthony and Daniel; also 3 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28th at 10:30 a.m. in the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
