Obituary of Ramiro Diaz Jara

Ramiro Diaz Jara, age 76, died on Tuesday, May 05, 2009 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and had lived in California and Plainfield before moving to Warren 30 years ago.Mr. Jara was a self-employed mason for over fifty years.He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Mount Church and a member of the Italian American Club of North Plainfield. He enjoyed gardening, dancing and helping people.Mr. Jara is predeceased by his parents, Baudelio Jara and Soledad Diaz.Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Ellyn Rossi Jara; his children, Elena Barresi and her husband, Michael of North Grafton, MA., David Jara and his wife Rosemarie of Piscataway, John Jara and his wife Jennifer, Steven Jara and Diane Jara; his siblings, Ruben, Arturo, Guillermo, Rodrigo, Michael, Lupita, Baudelio, Jr. and Gabriel. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, and 1 on the way and 3 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will begin on Monday, May 11th at 9:15 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9.
