Obituary of Cecelia Ovecka

Cecelia Ovecka, age 91, died on Monday, June 22, 2009 at Ashbrook Nursing and Rehab Center in Scotch Plains. Cecelia was born in Middlesex to the late Anton Hoffman and Anna Hubinsky. She was raised in Dunellen and had lived there most of her life before moving to Watchung 30 years ago. Cecelia worked for the Middlesex Board of Education as a Secretary in the Pierce School for over 20 years retiring in 1982. She participated in the Crafters Guild at the Wilson Union Memorial church in Watchung. Cecelia was a very active member of the Warrenbrook Senior Citizens. Cecelia is predeceased by her husband, Stephen J. Ovecka in 1974. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia DeVos and her husband Eric of Watchung; also one granddaughter, Stephanie A. DeVos. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. prior to the service.
