Obituary of Elvie Masuelli

Elvie Catherine Masuelli, age 93, died on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at her home in Warren. She was born in Burolo, Italy and came to the United States at age 11. She lived in New York, married and had 3 children there. She moved to Palisades Park, NJ in 1952 and spent many years doing charitable work through St. Michael's parish. She moved to Fort Lee, NJ and lived there for 33 years before moving to Basking Ridge, NJ in 2000. She was an excellent cook and a loving and supportive mother and wife. Prior to her retirement, she was an office manager for Prentice-Hall Publishing House in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Mrs. Masuelli was a devoted Catholic and a Communicant of Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren. Elvie and her late husband, Domenick actively supported the development of the Bergen County Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of America. She is predeceased by her husband, Domenick John Masuelli and her son, Roger Masuelli who was afflicted with Muscular Dystrophy. Surviving are her daughters, Gloria Masuelli and Nancy Masuelli. Funeral services will begin on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Church. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
