Obituary of Sr. Jean Baumann
Sister Jean Baumann (former Sister Mary Francisco), Sister of Mercy Sister Jean, 79, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at McAuley Hall Health Care Center, Watchung, NJ.Sister was born in New Brunswick, NJ and raised in Sayreville, NJ. She attended Our Lady of Victories Elementary School, Sayreville and St Mary High School, South Amboy. She entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1947and received a BS degree from Georgian Court College, Lakewood, NJ. Her work as a Sister of Mercy included teaching first grade in OLSS School in Atlantic City, St Joseph School in Trenton, St. James School in Red Bank, Our Lady of Lourdes in Milltown, Sts Philip & James School in Phillipsburg, NJ and Holy Family Academy/St. Joseph School in Bound Brook, NJ. She retired to St. James Convent, Red Bank for six years and in 2004 came to McAuley Hall Health Care Center, Watchung.Reflecting on her years of teaching and being a member of the Mercy Community Sister Jean said, "God has been very good to me"Surviving are a brother James and his wife Lorrie and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at McAuley Hall Health Care Center on Friday,August 28, 2009 from 5:30 - 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM andSaturday, August 29 from 9:00 - 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30.
