Please understand that there are many of us who never knew Sgt Lobosco except through the stories we read concerning his loss, yet are filled with admiration for his accomplishments, respect for his service and sorrow at his death.
I want his family to know that there are prayers offered for his repose and for their comfort, even by strangers.
Thank you to them for raising a real American, and may God grant peace to his fallen servant and hope to his bereaved.

I have never had the pleasure of meeting Andrew, but, if he is anything like his mother, I know he was a strong, happy young man. My heart goes out to everyone in his family. I too have a son in the army and can't imagine what heartache they must be going thru. His mother told me, "you have to let them be happy." Keeping our country safe was what made him happy I am sure of. He truly can be called a "hero." Rest in peace, Andrew. I know you will be missed!

Back in June, Fred Ciociola from the Knights of Columbus at Blessed Sacrament Church gave me Andrew's name. I make Quilts of Valor for the Service Men as a thank you for giving us our freedom back home. In July I sent Andrew a quilt.
I never met Andrew but I feel I knew him. The family should be very proud of all his accomplishments and medals while in the service. My family's prayers are with the family and Andrew and I thank you for letting me be some how part of his life.

Bonnie, Bob & Lisa,
Our hearts are filled with sorrow and sympathy for the pain you are now feeling. The world has lost a very dear, special, loving, compassionate, strong and wonderful person and America has lost a Hero.
God now has a spectacular new soul shining in Heaven. Andrew's light has always shined bright here. For the years that we shared in his life, we could always see his light shine in his eyes, in his smile and expecially in the way he always showed love and respect to everyone. We truly miss Andrew and wish the Peace of God consoles your hearts now and through all the years to come. There will be a day when you once again will be reunited with Andrew in Heaven where he will greet everyone with that wonderful warm smile of his and embrace you with his love. For now, may God's Love embrace your souls and comfort you. And, when you experience that strange sense of calm in the midst of all your pain and suffering, know that Andrew is holding your one hand and Jesus is holding the other and they are embracing your heart and wishing away your pain to replace it with their endless Love for you.
We love and miss you all.
With Love and Prayers,
Chris, Linda, Alinda & Elissa Yu

Dear Bonnie, Robert, Lisa and Joseph,
My deepest condolences to you and all family members and friends of SSgt. Andrew T. Lobosco. My heart aches for you, and you will remain in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that the deep hurt you feel can be in some part be eased by the feeling of great pride for Andrew’s valor and deep sense of patriotism. He will always be remembered as an American Hero by my family and we will never forget the great sacrifice made by your family.
In spite of all that happened here in New York City that dark Tuesday morning nearly eight years ago, millions continue to live and work here without fear, because of our awesome U.S. Military. We still stand tall and proud here today, thanks to wonderful American patriots such as your Andrew.
To Andrew I would say you have made the ultimate sacrifice and did so willingly and without hesitation. Thank you so very much for defending my freedoms. It means so much to me, to the people of NYC and to the entire nation. Thank you for your bravery and sacrifice in the service of the country that I love so very much.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
May God be with you until we all meet at Jesus’ feet.
Most Sincerely,
Pat Shoukry – NYC (6 miles from “Ground Zero”)

As Lisa & Jason's neighbors we were able to meet Andy this summer when he visited. Although, it was only a few minutes he impacted our entire family. My 12 year old son went home and immediately worked out lifting weights. Cole, who isn't very tall, said, "Mom, he wasn't really tall but did you see his muscles?" For that Andy was an absolute encouragement to my son and instantly became someone to look up to. For me, Andy thanked us for something we were working on to support the families of our troops. He was so genuinely interested in our project. For some reason hearing those words of thanks from him, a soldier, was so encouraging that it really validated our efforts for the project we were working on. I remember telling him that it was us that really truly us that needed to be thanking him for what he chose to do with his life. We understand this country was founded by very brave men that understood the costs of freedom. It takes a special unselfish young man to catch the fire of that cause and to pursue it by serving in our military. We know there is very little freedom within the military itself. So, in a way these young men and women lay down their freedom so that we can have ours - there is no greater love than that. We, as a family, were so saddened by the news about Andy's loss. Every day when I wake up and go outside to do the chores one of the first things that I see is the flag that Andy, Lisa and Jason hung from the back door of their pole barn. Ole Glory, always meant a lot to us before and so did our military families but now. . .it means so much more because of Andy.
May God Bless you with comfort in your loss. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. The Willis Family
