Obituary of Walter L. Macaulay
Walter L. Macaulay, age 80, died on Thursday August 27, 2009 at JFK Haven Hospice in Edison. Born in Scotch Plains he has resided in Warren for many years.
Walter was a Master Plumber and was a member of the Plainfield Master Plumber Association. A graduate of Westfield High School, he served in the US Army during the Korean War as a Private First Class.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #26F & AM, Warren Township Lions Club, served as Commander of the American Legion Post 293, Watchung Hills Elks #352 and Warren Township Honorary PBA.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Joan Walter. Also surviving are his son George A. Macaulay and his daughter-in-law, Patricia Macaulay, as well as his dear sister Marion L. Paugh of Cleveland. He is predeceased by his beloved brother-in-law, W.C. Paugh. Walter was a source of inspiration and strength to many relatives and friends who will mourn his passing.
A funeral service will be held on Friday September 4, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
