Obituary of Mario Contarino

Mario Contarino, 86, passed away at his home in Margate, FL on Saturday, September 5, 2009. Born in New York City, he resided in North Plainfield for 12 years before moving to Florida in 1998. From 1956 to his retirement in 1983, Mario was employed as a Parks Supervisor by the city of New York. He was a WWII US Army Veteran. His step-daughter, Lisa Solomon predeceased him. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann (Della Ventura) Schultz-Contarino; two step-sons, Alfred W. (Lori) and Robert A. (Linda) Schultz, both of North Plainfield; a sister, Santa Lisi of CA and seven step-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 9:30 am from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10 am Mass of Resurrection at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, North Plainfield and interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island. Visitation Monday 2-4& 7-9 pm.
